The Qatgani or Qataghani horse breed hails from Afghanistan’s former Qataghan province and is listed among twelve Afghan horse breeds included in DAD-IS’ (Domestic Animal Diversity Information System) database.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Qatgani horses rose to fame early 2001 as they became the mounts of Uzbek raiders led by warlord Abdul Rashid Dostum and known for their skilled horsemanship, using them in campaigns against Taliban forces in Afghanistan’s north-eastern Darya Suf valley. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
These key historical events highlighted its endurance, agility and significance within Afghan culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
